| August/September 2011 | Middle School Visitations Magnet Program Coordinators will visit middle schools to preview Magnet Programs provided by Cobb County School District. Contact your school's 8th Grade Counselor for specific dates and times. |
| October 17, 2011 | Fall Applications available online Students may start apply to all magnet programs with the new common online application. |
| November 2011 | Fall Rising 9th Grade Parent Meeting at South Cobb. Informational meeting for 8th graders in South Cobb High School feeder schools. Location-Theater; Time-TBA |
| November 9, 2011 | Introductory Meeting for Academy of Research and Medical Science Magnet Program Open house and program presentation in the South Cobb High School Theatre. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, meet students and teachers, and tour the facility. The meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. Directions to the school can be obtained from the magnet website. |
| December 9, 2011 | Student application is due to South Cobb High School. All applications must be completed before midnight. Any applications received after this date will not be processed. |
| January 21, 2011 | Admission testing at South Cobb High School. |
| January 28, 2012 | Alternate test date at North Cobb High School |
| February 24, 2012 | Acceptance letters and intent forms mailed to students. |
| March 6, 2012 | Accepted Students Tour. |
| March 16, 2012 | Intent Forms due from accepted students to desired program. |
| March 16-22, 2012 | New magnet student registration for 9th grade courses. |
